Workshops
I am passionate about sharing my skills and knowledge, and the joys and therapeutic benefits of working with clay. After a successful career in Further & Higher Education I now teach and mentor privately and work in community settings with all kinds of people. I taught ceramics and sculpture in Further Education on the National Cert. Art & Design and HNC/D Art & Design Programme at Dumfries & Galloway College until November 2023. I now focus my teaching in community settings and am interested in partnership opportunities to work with local organisations to deliver clay workshops in the community. I’m currently working with a group of 11 local people at Eskdalemuir Hub, part of Eskdalemuir Creative Arts, delivering beginners clay workshops with a focus on wellbeing and combating isolation. One of the additional aims of the project is to help the group become self sufficient providing a clay making space that can be used by the community for years to come.
