Suitable for beginners who would like an introduction to working creatively with clay, and those who've worked with clay already and want to develop their skills. There will be a focus on functional pots. We will cover different approaches to constructing ceramic forms: slab construction, press moulds, wheelthrowing and handmade tiles. We will also explore different ways to create surface decoration including using slips and glazes. Each weekly session will be from 6 - 8.30pm on Tuesdays Small class sizes so lots of hands-on support (max 5 on this course).
£195 per person, inclusive of materials,preparation and firings.
Chris has been a professional maker since the mid 1990s, focusing on tableware. Our friendly working studio is an artist-run not-for-profit space, where you can also see our own work in progress.
