Artists and Makers: Retail Opportunity

Biggar Museum Trust seeks new artists and makers to display their wares in our gift shop

Closing date: 30 Apr 2024

Biggar and Upper Clydesdale Museum are looking to refresh their list of partner artists, artisans and makers.

The  gift shop sits at the front of the Museum, right in the heart of Biggar's thriving high street.

Biggar Museum Trust are seeking applications from high-quality designers, crafters, makers, and artists to display their work on a consignment, ongoing, basis (sale or return).

All vendors must hold their own public and product liability insurance, and be able to send proof of this, as well as the certificates specific to their products (for example, fire safety, electrical safety, or product testing for cosmetics).

Please email your application to Paige, Business Manager - manager@biggarmuseumtrust.co.uk

With the following information:

Your name
where you/your studio is based
your business name
A bit about you and your business (profile)
website/social media

A selection of photographs of your products (attachment or link to a cloud folder is great)

Indicative pricing (your sale price and your recommended retail price please).

Please do not send links to social media only.

If you have any exclusivity agreements with retailers, please send some information about this too.

If for any reason you are more comfortable sending this information by video or in another format, please do get in touch anyway.

All applications will be reviewed before the end of April, and applicants will be contacted at the beginning of May.

Priority will be given to businesses and individuals from Central and South Scotland, as part of our commitment to bolstering the success of our local economy.

Please note Biggar Museum Trust will be unable to reimburse artists for the postage of their goods to the museum, if necessary, so please factor this in to your pricing.

Biggar Museum Trust will aim to get back to everyone who submits a complete application. Please be aware that they are accepting partnerships throughout the year, and will be looking to always keep our displays fresh, so while it might not be a fit right now, they may be in touch in the near future.

If you wish to have a further conversation before making an application, please do email anyway, and someone will be able to get back to you from the 15th April.
