Call to Makers: CULTURALITY Project

AAS seek makers for a 24 Hour Creative Discussion Event / Residency as part of the CULTURALITY Project.

Closing date: 12 Sep 2025

AAS invites submissions from makers to take part in CULTURALITY, a project which champions craft and making as a vital aspect of creative tourism. As part of a wider programme of events, the 24 hour in person creative discussion event will bring together in the Cairngorms a small group of practitioners with the AAS Culturality team to collectively reflect on the role of creativity in shaping, sustaining, and reimagining rural economies.

AAS seek four rural Scotland based craft practitioners, one each in the disciplines of ceramics, metal, textiles and wood for the 24 hour in person paid residency - £360 + £50 contribution to travel costs.

Makers must be an AAS Member or have a Membership application pending to apply.

Visit the AAS blog post for more details about the opportunity, what to include in an expression of interest and for more information about becoming an AAS Member.
