Upland/Arctic Hideaway Residencies

The Arctic Hideaway, in partnership with Upland CIC, is offering two funded residencies in Norway to Upland members in April 2026.

Each residency is two weeks long, one in the first half of April and one in the second half, with some flexibility to accommodate travel arrangements.

Accommodation and food are fully funded by the Arctic Hideaway. Artists are responsible for funding their own travel, equipment, materials, and any accommodation required enroute. Upland will contribute £100 towards travel for each selected artist.
Please note that there is no artist fee.

Each resident has their own individual sleeping cabin plus access to shared ‘clean’ workspace, kitchen and dining space, wood-fired sauna, showers, toilets and a spectacular island environment. Artists will be part of a group of around five residents from a variety of disciplines, backgrounds and cultures.

There is no expectation of a fixed outcome or specific project, enabling you to make the most of the time and place in any way you wish. Artists are expected to share their practice with others during their stay, and contribute a blog, presentation or similar on their return.
