Strata 1

Strata 1 is where I began to move to purely sculptural work. I am inspired by layered sedimentary rock formations. This sculpture is carved by hand from locally sourced Scottish Douglas fir, with each element selected to maintain continuity across the form. The surface is brushed and burnished with natural earth
