Console table in English Yew, designed to be light in appearance and in weight. Subtle curves and a stunning solid yew top, sanded to a silky smooth finish.

Douglas Dining Chair

One of a batch of 8 chairs for a farmhouse kitchen, designed with strength and durability in mind. Steam bent bows below. Solid oak seat sculpted by hand using traditional tools and techniques.

Extending Table

Extending table with solid oak dovetailed extension runners. Seats 4 when closed, 6 when fully extended. Inspired by geometric forms. Triangles and circles, light and dark.

Ebony Box

A celebration of rare Madagascan ebony purchased from a retiring cabinetmaker. I wanted to make something unique that would do this beautiful timber justice. Three removable top trays with three larger compartments below. Madagascan ebony, burr camphor veneer, ripple sycamore veneer, teal pig suede and stainless steel.

Occasional Tables

A pair of tables made using timber from an existing piece of furniture. The burr elm for the tops came from an old coffee table. The legs and bases are Scottish elm, using solid wood for the legs and veneer for the rings.

Dressing Table

Designed for an Edinburgh client with limited space in the bedroom. Solid English brown oak with brass fittings. Celebrating the wonderful native brown oak, oak thats been infected by the beef steak mushroom which stains the grain.

Zigzag bookcase

Scottish sycamore combined with brown oak. This small bookcase was designed to house a collection of board games.

Sycamore Stool

A simple three legged stool based on a traditional milking stool. Figured Scottish sycamore with brown oak wedges.

Fumed oak tallboy

An early piece in my creative journey, made in 2010 as I was just starting out. This piece was awarded Bespoke Guild Mark No 419 by the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers. Its an ode to the oak tree - oak three ways. Fumed oak carcass, natural oak drawers and English bog oak handles and inlay.
