Edinburgh Design School is an independent design school based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Founded in 2012 we aim to re- establish and promote design disciplines, which have been disappearing from mainstream publicly funded university and college education.
Edinburgh Design School currently concentrate on teaching Ceramics and offer learning pathways from simply 'come and try' to Foundation level classes to workshops and training aimed at training and supporting the next generation of ceramicists in Scotland.
Edinburgh Design School are a Scottish Qualifications Authority Approved Teaching centre dedicated to delivering a high quality learning experience across all our learning pathways.
Edinburgh Design School founded the Edinburgh Ceramics Workshop in 2015 to give serious hobbyists and emerging makers a place to practice.
Edinburgh Design School work with Craft Scotland to facilitate Continued Professional Development (CPD) for school teachers in Scotland in the fields of Ceramics and Print and we host the 'Creative Crofters' pottery business incubator where 5 emerging potters are supported over two years. They also have a Ceramics residency programme currently hosting South Korean potter Jiseon Na for 6 months.
