Pleating is a traditional craft which enables the application of sculptural form, volume and pattern to fabric. It uses cardboard moulds to achieve intricate and precise folds which are made permanent through the use of steam or heat. At the end of the day you will leave with an impressive array of samples, a set of re-useable moulds and all the necessary skills and confidence to continue to pleat at home.
All materials, fabric and tools will be provided (you are also more than welcome to bring along any fabric samples of your own you would like to pleat).
