This tactile and hands-on workshop offers an introduction to some of the essential techniques of traditional goldwork embroidery. It is Ideal for beginners to gold work and those with general embroidery experience. The class is designed to gently build skills and confidence while exploring this richly decorative and historic craft.
During the session, participants will be guided through the following techniques:
Felt padding
Applying kid leather
Couching with pearl purl
Couching with Japanese thread
Chipping using bright check
By the end of the workshop, each participant will have completed a small decorative sampler showcasing all techniques covered.
