Learn how to make a ceramic floral display bowl with Studio Yōki!
21 Jun - 22 Jun 2025
Floral bowls are a great way to display styled bouquets, with the aid of a kenzan pin you have more control over how your stems sit and the overall look and style of your arrangements.
Over three hours, you will be guided through the enjoyable process of creating a unique vessel from clay, with demonstrations of essential techniques and support as you learn:
- Getting comfortable with clay properties and preparation.
- Using slab building and coiling techniques to build your vase's form.
- Methods for securely joining clay sections and achieving a smooth surface.
- How to use moulds to shape your bowl design.
This workshop is perfectly suited for individuals new to ceramics who want to learn the basics. However, those with previous clay experience looking to practise their hand-building skills are also very welcome. All clay, tools, and necessary equipment for the activity are provided.
After the workshop, Studio Yoki will handle the finishing touches for you – firing your creation and applying my shimmer white glaze. You'll then be able to collect your bowl and get stuck into styling your stems.
