Developing from an ongoing research project, Turf to Tools, led by artist and Senior Technician Eden Jolly, this weekend course will share methods of ancient bronze casting used by Pictish metalworkers. Participants will use natural and readily available materials such as beeswax, clay, sand, horse manure to make a green mold and charcoal-powered furnace to cast small objects such as a piece of jewellery in bronze.
If you have any suggestions, questions or requirements relating to accessibility at SSW, please get in touch and they will make every effort to support you to visit.
