The aim of this workshop is to focus on a specialist technique within enamelling - Cloisonne. The workshop is for those who already have some experience of enamelling.
Cloisonne is a term to describe the use of fine wires placed on metal or an enamelled surface. The enamel is then placed between the wires and fired, giving a very crisp outline.
Following a demonstration of the preparation and firing of enamels there will be further demonstrations on the transfer of designs, laying of the wires, and use of fine silver silver foil. You will be initially encouraged to work on copper and then move onto silver once you have a final design in place. At the end of the workshop, everyone will produce a small item of silver enamelled jewellery.
