Mary Quant is an icon of British fashion and the Swinging Sixties. Her designs popularised not only the miniskirt but also bright colors, simple, modern silhouettes and cosmetics. Born in London, Quant (1934-2023) studied at Goldsmiths College and opened her first boutique, 'Bazaar', on the King's Road in 1955 with her husband Alexander Plunket Greene and Archie McNair. The subject of major exhibitions at the Museum of London in 1977 and then at the V&A in 2019 and V&A Dundee in 2020, Kirst Hassard will discuss Quant as a fashion revloutionary and show how her innovations paved the way for Biba.

Tickets £15 (includes entry to The Biba Story: 1964–1975)
