Spring & Summer Wood-Firing Workshops

Dates of residential firings:
Thursday 9 April – Sunday 12 April
Thursday 2 July – Sunday 5 July
Thursday 27 August – Sunday 30 August

This residential workshop will give the opportunity of firing your own ceramic pieces in our newly built kiln, and you will receive an introduction to the process that will enable you to go on and fire your own woodfired kiln in the future.

These workshops explore the collaborative practice of kiln firing and sharing of knowledge of ceramics between participants. The firing at Hospitalfield will comprise three days of intensive practice-based skill development led by a core team of ceramists who have extensive experience of firing this kiln.

Includes Full Board Accommodation (your own room).

Tours of the historic house and chapel will be slotted into the programme around the firing.

All meals provided in Hospitalfield’s refectory or, weather permitting, in the sunny walled garden.
