SAVE THE DATE! EDGE Textile Artists Scotland is currently a hive of activity in preparation for the upcoming 'Surfaces and Undercurrents' exhibition at the Dundas Street Gallery in Edinburgh from the 30th of September to 9 October.
Why 'Surfaces and Undercurrents'? Nothing is quite so much about surface texture and interest than Textile Art but the visual and tactile aspect is only part of the story. Each work is an expression of the Artist's concerns, backstory and Individual Inspiration.
The interpretation and result is as different for every Artist as their personal lived experience and so those deep 'Undercurrents' also shape the 'Surfaces'. The exhibition promises to be a rich and immersive journey through fibre, colour, texture craftsmanship, expression and inspiration.
Details of work featured are by Edge Artists Rachael Jane MacDonald, Adrian Smith, Mahri Prince and Catherine Gowthorpe.
