Edinburgh Open Workshop has expanded its textiles programme in response to growing demand and feedback from members and previous course participants.

Running from late August to December, the programme includes new opportunities to explore machine knitting, garment construction, sewing and textile art, alongside workshops combining traditional craft skills with digital technologies.

New courses include Machine Knitting Introduction, Pojagi Style Stained Glass Curtain, Laser Cut & Sew Taster and Scrap-Busting Soft Toys, as well as Sewing Techniques and Garment Techniques for those looking to develop practical skills and confidence in clothing construction.

All courses are hands-on and taught by experienced professional makers, many of whom are resident makers or members at Edinburgh Open Workshop. Whether you’re a beginner, developing existing skills or keen to experiment with a new technique, the programme offers a supportive environment in which to learn, make and connect with other makers.

Bookings are now open.
