In this day and a half long workshop students will explore differing lifting combinations to produce a variety weave structures and effects over 16 shafts to produce a sampler other wise know as a gamp.
A tabby or plain weave colour gamp is the simplest examples of a gamp. This workshop moves this idea forward somewhat where students will explore differing advancing twill structures over 16 shafts in 5 differing threading blocks, taking the threading and replicating with the same order of lifts in the weft, creating unique and exciting weave structures.
Whilst this workshop is primarily designed to explore woven structures over 16 shafts, the fabric woven will result in woven squares, approximately 4" wide, and as students move from one structure to the next and this would also be an ideal opportunity to explore colour whilst exploring these structures.
