About Garvald Edinburgh

Founded in 1969, Garvald Edinburgh is a creative workplace for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. The organisation works with approximately 240 members across the course of a week, operating from 5 sites in Edinburgh and Midlothian.

Garvald has a distinctive model of creative practice where craft, community and care intersect. By combining high-quality making with a deeply rooted holistic ethos, the organisation creates an environment in which individuals with learning disabilities and autism can develop skills, express themselves, and contribute meaningfully to society.
