'Carved, Woven, Fired' is a new collaboration between Garvald Edinburgh and Craft Scotland showcasing the work of makers with a learning disability and/or autism.
Coming to the Garvald Makers Shop in June, the exhibition will present ceramics, textiles and wood homewares created by over 20 skilled makers from Garvald’s craft workshops.

Experience the creativity, skill and dedication of Garvald’s makers through a curated display of objects for the home. Distinctive ceramics and handmade wood furniture and homewares are presented alongside woven textiles in fresh summer colour palettes to reveal the imagination and artistry at the heart of Garvald’s craft community.
About Garvald Edinburgh
Founded in 1969, Garvald Edinburgh is a creative workplace for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. The organisation works with approximately 240 members across the course of a week, operating from 5 sites in Edinburgh and Midlothian.
Garvald has a distinctive model of creative practice where craft, community and care intersect. By combining high-quality making with a deeply rooted holistic ethos, the organisation creates an environment in which individuals with learning disabilities and autism can develop skills, express themselves, and contribute meaningfully to society.
