Jen Bryrne is looking for an experienced freelance sewist to assist with garment production for 4 hours per week. This part-time role requires proficiency in both commercial and domestic sewing equipment, with a focus on a high standard of sewing skill and attention to detail.
Key Tasks:
- Cut, sew and overlock garments to the provided specifications
- Operate industrial sewing machines and domestic overlockers
- Execute precise stitching, seaming, overlocking and finishing techniques
- Follow detailed instructions and maintain quality standards
Requirements:
- Experience in garment construction
- Confident in use of an industrial sewing machine
- Skilled with domestic overlockers/sergers
- Strong understanding of garment construction techniques although you will be trained up on how to make each piece.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control
- Reliable and punctual, with good time management
- Previous sewing projects available to see your sewing style
Details:
- 4 hours per week initially, with the potential to increase or adjust hours as needed to suit both of our schedules
- Timing is flexible around your other commitments, can be one 4h shift or 2 x 2h shifts
- Working alongside me in the studio (EH7 5AN) initially.
- Paid role at £15p/h
