Discover opportunities to grow your craft business beyond Scotland at this free international forum hosted by Craft Scotland and Scottish Development International.

Do you want to consider selling outside the UK or already exporting and want to grow your business? This workshop, over two sessions, will cover advice on how to develop into overseas markets and importantly how to access such markets by selling online.

Session 1: Craft Exporting Advice

This is a great opportunity for you to network with other like-minded makers in Scotland. You will also hear from SDI International specialists from the Export Advisory Service. They will highlight the best ways to develop your business internationally. If you’re getting ready for a trade show or just back from one, the ideas you will learn here will help you maximise your trip.

Session 2: How To Increase Your International Sales Online

Get practical support to start selling internationally or increase your UK and international sales through your Ecommerce website. This highly interactive workshop  will show you ways to win more international business over the web, develop your digital skills and knowledge to create an action plan for success.

Whilst sales are obviously the number one goal, international Ecommerce can also help your professional practice in other ways. International Ecommerce can help you raise brand awareness, gain a presence in other countries and test the water without major investment.

You will learn how to:

  • gain more international enquiries and customers through your website and digital channels

  • develop an appropriate digital strategy to grow your international business

  • focus on international customer needs and improve your sites international profile

  • improve your websites ranking in international search engines and find out how search engine optimisation (SEO) and social media works in different countries

  • address language considerations and learn how to localise your website

  • use free tools to assess and validate market opportunities

  • get practical support on using the best channels to target those markets

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please contact kerstie@craftscotland.org if you have any special dietary or mobility considerations

Please note we will be running the same workshop in Glasgow on 27 November 2017
