Jack Waygood is an award winning artist blacksmith running a small business, Work of Iron. Based in North Edinburgh, he makes a range of large and small-scale metalwork, from contemporary design projects to visual art. Engaging the audience with all aspects of his craft, as a formal teacher, performer, or practitioner. Work of Iron provides a progressive approach to blacksmithing and contemporary art practice. Established in 2022 and now based in Granton, the owner Jack Waygood is passionate about communicating visual ideas through highly skilled craftsmanship. With fifteen years’ experience honing his skills, Work of Iron makes traditionally crafted innovative designs, using hot forged steel, from small scale retail products to large scale requirements for architectural, public art and garden settings. Jack creates artwork for numerous galleries, works to private commission, sells online, exhibits at trade fairs, and has regular courses running in the forge, with affordable price options available. He makes work that is accessible to a variety of audiences and clientele.
