M A N I F E S T O

Under the name M A N I F E S T O, I hand-build ceramic sculptures that highlight the small, often overlooked objects in our environment. My practice explores themes of value, identity, and environmentalism, drawing inspiration from nests, seedpods, curiosity cabinets, and museum displays. Over the past four years, I have developed a series of wall-mounted ceramic sculptures called Curiosity Clouds, envisioned as a “Wunderkammer from an alternate universe.” My ceramics are deeply connected to the natural world—in form, function, and material. Embracing imperfection and impermanence, I work with experimental clays and textured glazes that yield unpredictable results in the kiln. By incorporating kitchen and studio byproducts alongside foraged rocks and shells, I intentionally relinquish full control over the final outcome. This approach reflects both a philosophical commitment and a practical desire to promote an environmentally conscious ceramics practice.
