This is a Galloway Hoard inspired piece with the fish a nod to the silversmiths markings on the silver armbands. My fish flow round though, in the spiral currents and waves of time which reflect and absorb the everyday sunset glory of life. The palette is young and fresh and I have carved grooves around parts of fish and spirals for lively relief textural interest and a further nod to those silversmiths. Hand Tufted 100% British Wool

Greenland White Fronted Geese winter on specific fields of Scotland but their numbers have dwindled terribly in recent decades through habitat desecration. 'The Goose Who Laid The Golden Eggs' came to mind as this fable is what we are doing to our world. The rivers in Iceland and here in Galloway I tufted in loop pile to mimic the bubbling life geese need to survive. The Key signifies depth of existence and the harmony of habitat needed and how not providing this can be seen as a holocaust.

One of my responses to the pandemic was this palette of hot danger and the contorted nature of the shock of the change. The shadows' always lurking there, whether we care to see them, it, or not; whether we care to see and own our shadow or not. Hand tufted recycled wool.
