Maharani Mug

I designed this mug with a generous bevelled base, so it can be cradled in the hand. The foot ring elevates the mug and reflects the toasted band that circumnavigates the mug. The handle is slim in profile but wide in plan, assisting in balancing the weight of the mug and contents. The handle is elongated, to prevent scolding the knuckles on a freshly brewed hot ceramic surface. The lip of the mug is subtly concave, so as to create a good seal between the rim and your lips. Exterior lower third glaze is matt, creating a better gripping texture.

Espresso Cups

Espresso Cups<br>Made for a double shot of espresso. With a index fingertip and thumb pinch hold handle. A flat smooth toasted surface base, matching the toasted band that separates the matt and gloss exterior glazes.

Cup and Saucer.

The cup interior has a glossy glaze that highlights the speckled clay body. The exterior glaze is a gloss and stone white matt glaze. The handle is slim in profile, however wide in plan. Making a comfortably balanced cup.<br>The saucer cheek locates the foot ring of the cup. The width and depth of the saucer has been designed to accommodate a teaspoon and biscuit !.

Maharani Egg Cups

A hollow footed and deep bowled egg cup. The base is toasted and smooth. The curvature of the bowl accommodates small to large hen eggs. The interior has been glazed in the same colour as the exterior top two thirds. The bottom third has a band of toasted clay body, finished with a stone white matt glaze.

Maharani Jugs

The interior glossy glaze highlights the speckled body of the clay. The exterior top third is glazed in a vibrant hue, that blends or contrasts with other pieces in the Maharani collection. The bottom third is glazed in a matt stone white. The foot is toasted and smooth.

Maharani Teapot

A bellied form, galleried seat for a domed handled lid. Spout base is pierced to slow the flow and filter tea leaves. Slim in profile, yet wide in plan - handle. That balances well in the hand. Interior gloss glaze highlights the speckled clay body. Exterior top third glaze is gloss, circumnavigated by a toasted textured band. Bottom third and base are stone matt white. Designed with a bevelled base, to allow a tea cosy to be tucked under for added insulation.<br>Foot ring echoes the toasted band, with a silky smooth finish.<br>

Maharani Container and Dipping Bowls

The container doubles up as a couscous or noodle lidded steamer and the upturned lid is a handy footed bowl. The interior are gloss glazed to highlight the speckled clay body. The exterior have been glazed in a combination of gloss and matt, with a toasted band separating the two finishes. Toasted and finely sanded foot rings elevate both items.
