Sarah Rees Lloyd
Sarah is a studio potter based in Brechin, Angus. She makes functional tableware hand thrown in small batches in her garden studio.Sarah graduated with a B.A. Hons in Three Dimensional Design ( Wood, Metal, Ceramics and Glass ) from Manchester Metropolitan University. She draws influences from her South Asian heritage, specifically the rich vibrant hues applied to temple architecture in Tamil Nadu and the verdant countryside of Wales. Field walking in Angus with her partner and their dogs Dougall and Jeffrey, has thrown up shards of domestic pottery that has revealed information about our past daily lives and trade routes from distant communities. Which indicates social and economic connections between different communities. Cultural exchange, interconnectedness and the passage of time have influenced her process and decision to design and make tableware. In November 2024 Sarah’s work was photographed and included in Modern Rustic and the Sunday Times. In 2025 and January and February 2026 her work was in Emporium and the Editors Choice for Country Living Magazine.
