Aleksandra Zawada/ Jim Douglas 'departures and returns'

Two artists exploring seasonal migrations and migrations between disciplines.

Aleksandra is presenting individual ceramic sculptures with glaze integrated into the clay, transformed into small beings. They are technically challenging to make, each piece is risky to fire because of their found material, and so each one is one of a kind.

Jim's sculptures point the way towards a story about the little known lives of beautiful seabirds many of which are pelagic for most of the year, spread out near and far across the globe. They also convey his response to their beautiful forms, their grace and movement.
