Beginners Willow Basketry

Join master basket weaver Anna Liebmann for a fun and sociable day of beginners willow basketry and create a beautiful boat shaped nut basket followed by other willow projects of your choice.

This short, one day weaving course is designed to introduce working with willow to students, who will weave a boat shaped basket. Each student’s basket is likely to take on its own unique character, and people will be able to use Anna’s homegrown organic willows in striking different colours to enable this. Attention will be given to the grading of the willows and the shaping of the pieces, and each person will leave with their ownbasket. At the end of the day, time allowing, students can make a large star suitable in place of a wreath or as a Christmas tree topper.
