On World Mental Health Day (Monday 10 October 2022) The Flourish Jewellery Project in partnership with the U.K Crafts Council invite fellow makers to join them for an afternoon to explore how the act of making can help individuals recover from trauma and boost overall levels of mental wellbeing.
The Flourish Jewellery CIC is a social enterprise which engages with women recovering from trauma to learn the craft of jewellery making. The project works with women recovering from trauma as a result of addiction, domestic violence and homelessness, to discover and learn of the craft of jewellery.
The Flourish Jewellery are inviting fellow makers to join them as they share their practice and discuss the triumphs and challenges of running a socially engaged craft project which contributes to better mental health outcomes. A film about the project will be screened alongside photography by Shannon Tofts that documents the project.
