Discover the stories behind the craft in our engaging series of HARVEST Booth Talks, hosted at Edinburgh’s City Art Centre from 11 – 19 October 2025. 

Hear directly from talented Scotland-based makers, as they share invaluable insights into their creative processes, techniques, and the inspiration behind their work. Each talk offers a unique opportunity to connect with makers in a relaxed setting, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the craft on display at HARVEST: Contemporary Craft Fair. 

Running throughout HARVEST, our hour-long Booth Talks are free to drop-in and join the conversation.

Michelle Lowe 
Gain insight into the processes and inspirations that shape ceramicist Michelle Lowe’s work.

Sunday 12 October 2025 | 12pm - 1pm 
Robert Hunter Ceramics 
Fresh from a two-month residency at Starworks, North Carolina, ceramicist Robert Hunter will share his latest work, created from natural materials collected on-site.

Bryony Knox 
This talk explores how ideas become finished pieces, the importance of interaction with her objects, and craft becoming part of daily rituals around the home.

Susie Redman
Encounter an exploration of colour through weaving, Susie Redman will illuminate the natural world and urban landscapes that inform and inspire her work.

Kevin Andrew Morris 
Centered on a collection of tableware developed for Art Farm and specifically, The Fish Shop Ballater and Washington, this talk explores how stoneware pieces reflect HARVEST’s themes of hospitality and conviviality.

Studio Teller
Ross Baynham of Studio Teller will explore the making of the Low Sofa, reflecting on how his experience in making kitchens informs his approach to bespoke furniture.

Louise Bennetts 
Discover the process and techniques behind Louise Bennetts textile works, from cushions created with Scottish mill-waste to window hangings inspired by Edinburgh architecture.

Frances Priest 
Award-winning ceramicist Frances Priest will share the encaustic tile motifs she created for Chelsea Flower Show 2025, developed in collaboration with Down’s Syndrome Scotland and Burton Hall Garden Design. 

Thursday 16 October 2025 | 1:30pm – 2:30pm 
Anna Liebmann 
Discover an introduction to willow growing and basketmaking with Anna Liebmann. Anna will share her journey into willow weaving using her own homegrown materials, and answer any questions in a Q&A session. 

Friday 17 October 2025 | 12pm – 1pm 
Alison Macleod Jewellery 
Alison Macleod will share insights into her new Interlace Collection, exploring how it came to life from first inspiration to finished piece. 

Saturday 18 October 2025 | 12pm - 12:30pm
Ebba Goring
Transforming designs from cotton to gold, Ebba Goring will bring samples and models to illustrate her making process. 

Sunday 19 October 2025 | 12pm - 1pm 
Ffion & Steven Blench 
Led by Steven Blench of Ffion & Steven Belch, this talk will touch on the geology, chemistry and uses of gypsum before focusing on it's capacity to be endlessly recycled.
