This one-day workshop is the perfect taster to introduce you to the art of millinery. You will cover all the basic techniques of shaping, rolling, twisting and fraying fine Sinamay straw to create a small statement piece. Your tutor, Abi Nicoll, will help you develop a design for a fascinator, headpiece, or even a statement brooch. She will guide you through different methods of stitching flamboyant shapes, add feathers, ribbons and other flourishes to embellish your design and create something that is uniquely you. You can also explore ribbon art as an alternative embellishment during this one-day introduction.
Head pads, hair bands and clips, will be provided, as well as all the Sinamay straw, quills and feathers you need to complete your project in class, and enough to take away and carry on creating!
