These are relaxed and sociable sessions in our professional workshop at the beautiful East Lothian location of Cockenzie House and Gardens with highly experienced Artist Jeweller and Community Artist, Fiona Hermse.
This booking is for a block of three Thursday evening jewellery classes on Thursday 16 January, Thursday 23 January and Thursday 30 January. sessions are 6.30pm to 9pm.
Beginners and intermediate jewellers are welcome as the course content is customisable. For absolute beginners we will begin with the basics of saw piercing, continuing on to soldering and learning how to smooth and add various finishes your jewellery.
Further techniques taught can include; ring making, doming, oxidising, using letter punches, rolling, basic keum boo, pearl stringing, making your own findings, texturising metals, how to make a simple claw setting, carving for lost wax casting, creating your own designer chain, basic enamelling...the list goes on!
