Time Lines brings together recent work from Malcolm Appleby’s home and studio in Perthshire as he celebrates his 80th year.

Internationally renowned for his mastery of hand engraving, Malcolm’s practice spans jewellery, silver, sculpture and metalwork, united by extraordinary craftsmanship and an enduring curiosity about the natural world. Inspired by the landscape surrounding his Perthshire studio, his work reflects a lifetime of close observation, from birds and butterflies to lichens and wildflowers.
The Scottish Gallery's exhibition explores the engraved line, the passage of time, and the relationships that have shaped a remarkable career. Rather than a retrospective, Time Lines celebrates an artist whose imagination, generosity and creativity continue to evolve with undiminished vitality.
