Maker Juli Bolaños-Durman
Based in Edinburgh, Costa Rica-born artist and maker Juli Bolaños-Durman hand–cuts and engraves recycled glass. Renowned for her charismatic and characterful designs she uses playfulness, beauty and charm as vehicles for exploring social and environmental issues.
Her practice centres on revitalising waste material by applying various heritage cold-working processes. Through repurposing found objects and transforming them into precious artefacts, Juli creates magical objets d'art that personify a story of potential.
