Residency and bursary for a Scottish maker at the Hosking Houses Trust.
Closing date: 9 Apr 2023
The Hosking Houses Trust is inviting applications from Scottish women artists and makers over 40, who would benefit from a residency in a country cottage near Stratford-upon-Avon.
Church Cottage is a one-up, one-down artisan cottage beside the churchyard in the village of Clifford Chambers. In 2023/24, thanks to a grant from the William Syson Foundation, they are offering a residency lasting approximately one month with an attached bursary of £1400 to a Scottish visual artist or maker. The limited size of the studio (10x15 feet) is suited tor those working on a small scale, in disciplines of crafts like calligraphy, basketry, millinery, textile design, or preparatory design work for 3-D objects.
Candidates should be over the minimum age of forty and be able to manage the short staircase. Church Cottage is warm, comfortable and private. It has been restored and furnished to a high standard and is near the countryside and the River Stour.
