My ceramic practice has two connected strands. Alongside making functional and decorative pottery for everyday use, I create more personal work that explores childhood memory, story, and experience. Together, these strands balance craftsmanship with artistic enquiry, creating work that is both useful and meaningful.

After studying art photography at degree level, I found my true medium in clay. Since 2017, I have worked full-time from my studio in Moffat, combining wheel-throwing and hand-building to create ceramics with character and individuality. I apprenticed with Mike Dodd.

I specialise in Mishima, a traditional Korean inlay technique, using slips, handmade stamps, and my mixed rich chocolate stoneware to build intricate decoration.

In 2025, I received both a Visual Artist and Craft Makers Award (VACMA) and the Upland Mentorship Award. Supported by this, my current project, Childhood Memories, explores how poetry, prose, and domestic objects can hold and evoke personal history. I was also shortlisted as a finalist in the Dumfries and Galloway Life Awards, Visual Artist/Maker of the Year.

I exhibit regularly through open studios, galleries, and events including Spring Fling and Potfest Scotland. Alongside my studio practice, I am passionate about building a creative community through workshops and promoting a creative culture in Moffat.
