Alison Kinnaird has an international reputation as an artist working in glass. She uses the ancient technique of wheel-engraving, often combining it with cutting-edge technology such as LED lighting. Her work ranges from small intimate pieces to architectural scale projects and is in many public and private collections, including the V&A Museum, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Corning Museum of Glass NY.
Creative Scotland awarded Alison a grant this year, to create some large panels of engraved glass which focus on striking contemporary subjects, using a unique and innovative technique that she has recently developed. These panels will be on display for the first time during this show.
The solo exhibition will take place in the conservation village of Temple, 12 miles south of Edinburgh, in the converted church dating from 1832, which has been Alison's home and studio for forty years.
