An exploration of various types of clay and their uses, led by artist Kjersti Sletteland. Clay Time introduces you to the potential of this metamorphic and versatile material. This course will experiment with different approaches to working in this material producing two types of result - some finished glazed pieces alongside works with a more intuitive and playful approach.
Over the course participants will:
– Examine clay's own specific properties
– Experiment with various forms of clay, from dark grogged to fine porcelain
– Take risks and challenge traditional approaches to clay materials and ceramic techniques
– Try out different approaches to working with clay some slow focused pieces alongside a more intuitive and playful approach
No prior experience is required.
Included in the course price: materials, use of tools and 10.5 hours of self-directed learning to be used over the duration of the course.
