Fascinated by movement and sculptural forms Baines draws upon a myriad of sources, including Venetian architecture, Issey Miyake’s pleated clothing and basketry, to create her rhythmic and tactile works. Many of her pieces, as shown here, possess a linear and tactile quality through her use of enamelled silver and etching inspired approach.
Vibrant colours and organic forms are a staple in her practice. The artist hopes not only hope that the wearer will engage with her works in a sensory way but that they will also feel empowered when wearing these striking and bold works.
