Booth TalkGeoanthropology by Stefanie Ying Lin Cheong

4.00pm, Friday 1 March 2024

With stories from rocks spanning 3 million years, the Geoanthropology collection by Stefanie Ying Lin Cheong charts the way humans have worked with rocks and minerals.

Stefanie will cover how materials and making cultures have and are evolving from the deep past (Stone Age flint) to the distant future (speculative future fossils) and the impact on the environment.

She will also consider if and how making can still positively influence the planet's course via science, design and making community.

This will be an opportunity to hear more about Stefanie’s process and handle these extraordinary rock specimens.

In-person talk at Craft Scotland's gallery space W10, West Wing held at Collect 2024, Somerset House, London. Free to attend for ticket holders.

Please note that whilst a microphone will be used for the Booth Talks, there is no additional support such as BSL or a hearing loop.
