Somerset House

Somerset House is London’s working arts centre built on historic foundations around one of the most beautiful courtyards in Europe.

Situated at the very heart of the capital, we are home to the UK’s largest and most exciting creative community and are overflowing with new ideas, young businesses and fresh perspectives.

Public transport

Tube
Nearest underground stations: Temple, Covent Garden, Charing Cross and Embankment.

National Rail
The nearest mainline rail stations are Charing Cross, Waterloo and Blackfriars.

Bus
Buses servicing the Strand include numbers 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 23, 77a, 91 and 176, while the River Bus Service (a boat service) can be taken to Embankment and Savoy Piers. For the latest London travel information please visit http://www.tfl.gov.uk/journeyplanner


Cycle
There is no on-site cycle parking at Somerset House. Somerset House asks that visitors do not attach their bicycles to railings, gates or to the fabric of the building.

Parking
There is no general car parking in the area. There are a number of charging car parks in the vicinity. Parking can be booked in advance at the two large multi-storey car parks serviced by National Car Parks at Parker Mews WC2B 5NT and Museum Street WC1A 1JP via the NCP website: https://www.ncp.co.uk/parking-solutions/leisure-parking/somerset-house-parking

Additional car parks in the immediate area include Upper Street, SE1 9PX and Shelton Street, WC2H 9HJ.
