City Art Centre

Located in the heart of Edinburgh and just steps from Waverley station, the City Art Centre is dedicated to Scottish visual and applied arts, from the present and the past.

Artworks from their nationally recognised collection of Scottish art are displayed alongside a diverse programme of changing exhibitions showcasing Scottish painting, photography, contemporary art and craft.

Admission: Free

Opening hours: 10:00 - 16:00

Accessibility

The main entrance has level access and there is an accessible toilet on the ground floor. For full access details including visual and sensory guidance please visit City Art Centre's website.

We have been notified by the City Art Centre that the building's only lift has a serious engineering fault and will not be operational during HARVEST: Contemporary Craft Fair. This means that access to our gallery space on the fourth floor will be via escalator (up) and stairs (down).

We are committed to increasing access to our programme and events and are deeply disappointed by this change in the venue’s accessibility.

>> Read our full statement about this change on our website.

We are currently exploring ways to adapt our programme to provide opportunities for everyone to have meaningful experiences with contemporary craft at HARVEST. This could involve moving our workshops to an accessible space and presenting aspects of HARVEST online.

If you would like to discuss any questions or access requirements, please reach out to the Craft Scotland team at programmes@craftscotland.org.
