Makers Open Call Out 2024

Sheffield Museums are looking for talented makers to join them for their annual selling showcase celebrating the finest of British contemporary craft.

Closing date: 9 Aug 2024

This is Sheffield Museums’ annual selling showcase celebrating the finest of British contemporary craft.

Held at Sheffield’s Millennium Gallery and open from 27 October – 24 December 2024 during the busy festive season, this showcase will feature original crafted pieces and their stories, from inspiration to completion.

The crafted pieces on display will include ceramics, glass, jewellery, metalwork, textiles and wood.  Sheffield Museum are looking for talented makers to join them this year on a sale or return basis.  They are especially interested in hearing from artists and multimedia makers, and makers who are keen to create a new range for the show. The ranges can include one off pieces or small scale production available in a variety of price points.

Applications are open to UK based craftpeople or designer-makers. Sheffield Museum are eager to feature makers new to the Millennium Gallery, especially those based in the North and the East Midlands, and would particularly welcome makers from diverse backgrounds who are currently underrepresented in the craft sector.
