The Goldsmiths’ Company and Charity have launched a £1 million fund – the Goldsmiths’ COVID-19 Fund – to support individuals working in the jewellery, silversmithing and allied trades and help them through a period of hardship to sustain the craft, skills and future of the industry during an unprecedented period in most people’s lifetimes. The Fund includes a grant scheme and an interest-free loan scheme.
The Goldsmiths’ Centre are opening a second grant scheme application window for the Goldsmiths’ COVID-19 Fund on Tuesday 28 April 2020 at 10am, giving more jewellers, silversmiths and others working in the allied industries an opportunity to apply for a £1,500 grant from the Goldsmiths’ Company Charity.
The Goldsmiths’ Company can only process a certain number of applications at a time. Once they reach that limit, they will close the second application window. They plan to open a third application window for the grant scheme wk’c 4 May and will announce further details here and on social media nearer the time.
