Visit Fife Contemporary's website to discover a selection of New Makers, explore their practice and find out what they have been doing over the last year. There will also be opportunities to purchase a selection of their work, a good way to support new makers who are working hard to start out their career given the exceptional circumstances they have faced.
Scotland nurtures innovation and creativity, and even during a pandemic, new graduates have proven this by showing us refreshing ideas that help us consider new ways of seeing and living in this chaotic world.
Francesca Rea a graduate from Duncan of Jordanstone has designed biodegradable embroidered textiles using plant-based fabric and dyes intended for burial wear and states, “This closed-loop life cycle is a reminder of our place in the environment, one that we must look after for the next generations on our planet.’’
The online exhibition will launch Friday 29 October 2021.
