Sashiko is a traditional type of Japanese embroidery or stitching. The word Sashiko means “little stabs” in Japanese. This form of stitching is used for both decorative and functional reinforcement of cloth and clothing. It consists of rows of running stitch that build up repeated patterns. This is a simple form of stitching, and the results are very satisfying.
This workshop could be done by experienced stitchers and beginners alike. Everything required will be provided.
The workshop is run by an experienced teacher and textile enthusiast Sue Crawley of Sunshine Designs Dollar.
