Craft Scotland Team Update

As we approach the year end, Craft Scotland is delighted to introduce three new team members who will play a key role in delivering our bold vision for the future programme.

Stacey Hunter joins the team in December as Craft Scotland’s Creative Director. This new role has been designed to shape high profile, ambitious public events which will connect makers with audiences, and raise the profile of contemporary craft across Scotland and internationally.

Stacey brings over 20 years of experience in public programming as an independent craft and design curator with Local Heroes, showcasing Scotland-based talent in Copenhagen, New York, London and Tokyo.

She directed Dundee Design Festival in 2024, and most recently worked with Craft Scotland as the as the independent curator of HARVEST: Contemporary Craft Fair.

Stacey will work closely with Craft Scotland Director Irene Kernan to develop our Presenting Craft Programme and deliver initiatives to support makers, curators and the craft sector.

Ilaria Casini joins Craft Scotland as our new Learning Manager. This new role will develop and expand our successful Learning and Engagement programme which includes skills development and mentoring for individuals, sector learning programmes, talks and conferences and national partnership projects.

Kate Livingstone joins the team as our new Marketing Co-ordinator. Kate will help deliver vibrant marketing and PR campaigns, promoting our programme and Scotland’s contemporary craft sector to national and international audiences.

These appointments are possible thanks to Craft Scotland securing 2025-28 funding from Creative Scotland’s Multi-Year Funding Programme earlier this year. This will enable us to deliver on our Strategic Plan 2025-28 created in consultation with the sector and informed by dedicated research.

We are delighted to welcome Stacey, Ilaria and Kate to Craft Scotland and are encouraged by the passion, experience and creativity they each bring with them. Alongside our established team, we are excited to carry our programme forward, introduce new initiatives, and help shape a new chapter for Scottish contemporary craft.
