We put makers at the heart of everything we do and this year, Craft Scotland introduced several exciting new projects into our Programme for 2018/19 to support makers in developing a sustainable practice. We are now thrilled to announce our forward programme for 2019/20. You can find full details of our events and exhibitions below, including key dates for our maker open-calls. Do make sure you are signed-up to our Opportunities newsletter to be the first to hear.

Alongside events and exhibitions, we facilitate a year-round Outreach and Engagement programme. We work with selected partners to create unique opportunities for targeted groups to engage with craft. Our current focus is on young people, who have the potential to be the next generation of makers and on projects which support health and wellbeing, particularly for older people. We will also continue with our important Advocacy for Craft work alongside key stakeholders and developing our Learning & Development networks.

Additionally, we support makers and promote the wider craft sector’s initiatives to a diverse audience through our online activities. Our website provides a year-round valuable resource to makers and those interested in contemporary craft with our What’s On listings, maker Opportunities listings and interesting Journal articles. Digital activities include the Craft Directory (an online showcase of the best contemporary craft including makers and craft destinations) and the Craft Marketplace (your chance to shop beautiful objects from Scotland-based makers from the comfort of your own home).

Before our Programme 2019/20 kicks off, you can find Scotland-based makers at a host of shows supported by Craft Scotland; The Craft Gallery at Scotland's Trade Fair, Craft Scotland celebrates...wood at ALIGHT with Visual Arts Scotland, NY NOW 2019 and Collect 2019.
